Following the success of the inaugural Community Partners Program in 2016, VenuesWest has again selected a range of deserving local charities to work with throughout the year.
Superfins WA and Make a Wish Foundation will continue as partners, joined by Autism West, Starlight Children’s Foundation and St Vincent de Paul Society WA.
VenuesWest works closely with these groups to identify and contribute tailored opportunities and benefits to assist them in achieving their important community work.
VenuesWest CEO David Etherton said, “To partner with these five well respected community groups is a great privilege and I look forward to working with them over the next 12 months and beyond.”
“As the owner of 13 of Western Australia’s best sporting and entertainment venues VenuesWest is uniquely positioned to work with these groups to identify experiences that would otherwise be out of reach for many members of the community.” Mr Etherton continued.
Gerard Menses, CEO of Make-A-Wish Australia is pleased to be continuing as a community partner, “Make-A-Wish Australia is delighted to enter our second year as a Community Partner of VenuesWest, as the program will ensure even more life-changing wishes will come true. The whole wish journey – from imagining the wish, to anticipating then realising the wish – is designed to help really sick kids through the challenges of their illness. Thank you to everyone at VenuesWest for your ongoing support.”
Joining Make-a-Wish Australia, Superfins WA Chairperson Jan Saunders expressed thanks and highlighted the opportunities this continued partnership will deliver, “As a VenuesWest Community Partner Superfins will be able to reach more people within the community who could benefit from being involved with a swimming programs tailored for people with disabilities. Our members will benefit socially through attending events and the partnership will strengthen the already great relationship our members have with VenuesWest staff.”
Starlight Children’s Foundation State Partnerships Manager Jayne Graham welcomed the opportunity, “Starlight Children’s Foundation is excited to be part of VenuesWest’s fantastic community initiative in 2017. We’re looking forward to working closely with VenuesWest to brighten the lives of sick Aussie kids, teens and their families and contribute to life-impacting opportunities.”
Autism West Acting CEO Louise Sheehy has also expressed gratitude in joining the program, “Autism West is excited to have been selected to join the VenuesWest Community Partners Program. This program will support and strengthen our vision of building a community where young people on the autism spectrum are accepted, celebrated and empowered in Western Australia.”
Lisa Torre, Marketing and Engagement Manager, St Vincent de Paul Society WA said “We are incredibly grateful to have VenuesWest choose the St Vincent de Paul Society to be part of its Community Partner Program. As a not for profit organisation we rely largely on the support of the community and corporate partnerships to be able to provide the services and assistance that we do to people in need. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with VenuesWest and on behalf of the many people we assist, we say thank you.”
The Community Partners Program commenced on 1 July 2017.
VenuesWest delivers world class sport and entertainment experiences across its portfolio of venues which include Perth Arena, nib Stadium and Perth Stadium due to be completed in early 2018.
These are in addition to HBF Stadium, HBF Arena, WA Athletics Stadium, Bendat Basketball Centre, SpeedDome, Perth Motorplex, Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, WA Rugby Centre, State Netball Centre and the Western Australian Institute of Sport High Performance Service Centre.
